On-Site Service
In the field of heat treatment, thermal precision is the foundation for the highest product quality. Consistently accurate temperatures and a homogeneous temperature distribution within the furnace require faultless sensor technology. However, since a calibrated sensor is only as reliable as its display, the entire measurement chain must be perfectly coordinated.
To ensure these factors and eliminate potential sources of error, we offer our customers the GÜNTHER On-Site Service.
The Three Decisive Pillars for Precision in Heat Treatment:
1. Sensor Technology as the Foundation
Accurate temperature measurement is the foundation of every control system. Only properly functioning temperature sensor technology makes it possible to precisely reach and maintain the target temperature inside the furnace.
2. Homogeneous Temperature Distribution
Precise measurement results are the prerequisite for distributing heat uniformly throughout the entire furnace chamber. This prevents quality discrepancies within a single batch.
3. The Measurement Chain (Sensor and Display)
An often underestimated factor is the correct output of data: a calibrated sensor is only as valuable as the device that displays the value. The accuracy of the entire measurement chain – from the sensor to the display unit – must be guaranteed.

Our Quality Promise
To ensure these three factors in the best possible way and to proactively eliminate potential sources of error, we support you directly at your plant with the GÜNTHER On-Site Service.
System Accuracy Test (SAT Measurement)
The System Accuracy Test (SAT) is a comparison check performed during ongoing operations. It determines the deviation of an installed sensor (e.g., a control sensor) by using a calibrated reference sensor within the heated furnace.
For maximum precision, the measurement must be taken as close as possible to the sensor under test. Ideally, this is done with pinpoint accuracy via a test port in the connection head, through which the reference sensor is guided directly to the measurement point. For many temperature sensors, GÜNTHER offers factory-integrated test openings to enable this verification process optimally.

Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS Measurement)
In the automotive and aerospace industries, uniform furnace temperature is essential. This uniformity is verified through regular Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) using precisely positioned thermocouples.
Two Common Methods:
Batch Furnaces (Stationary):
For the measurement, separate thermocouples are installed inside the furnace to monitor temperature uniformity.
If it is not possible to insert thermocouples into the furnace from the outside, special heat protection boxes with integrated data loggers are available, which can remain inside the furnace for a specific period of time. This makes it possible to measure the temperature uniformity inside the furnace even in these cases, and to store the data securely against tampering for later evaluation.Continuous Furnaces: In these systems, “trailing” or “traveling” measurements are typically used. The thermocouples travel through the furnace directly attached to the component and transmit the data to an external logger.

Instrument Calibration
Instrument calibration is a precise verification of display units and simulators that interpret sensor signals or generate them for testing purposes. Whether it is a permanently installed industrial controller or a mobile handheld meter – we cover the entire spectrum.
Thanks to our accreditation, we calibrate all common thermocouples and resistance thermometers flexibly according to your requirements: either directly at your site or in our specialized laboratories.
