Corporate Code of Conduct

As an internationally operating company with subsidiaries in various European countries, as well as a wide range of suppliers and trading partners worldwide, we have committed ourselves to responsible and lawful conduct as fundamental prerequisites for the success of our company.

Our Values

What we believe in, what we stand for, and why people are at the center of everything we do.

  • We respect people, the environment, and nature—without exception.
  • We respect the laws and cultures of the countries in which we operate.
  • We live and work according to ethical principles and generally recognized legal standards.
  • We honor the interests of our customers, employees, partners, and suppliers.
  • We maintain an open and constructive dialogue with all societal groups.
  • We act in an environmentally conscious manner, sustainably protecting the climate and resources.
  • We are committed to being an excellent company.
  • We always act honestly and with integrity.
  • Our actions comply with German legislation, EU directives, the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the European Convention on Human Rights.

Implementation of Our Values is Reflected in the Following Areas:

1. Environment and Recycling
  • As a partially energy-intensive company, we operate our own photovoltaic system to cover a large part of our energy needs with self-produced electricity. All energy-consuming systems are maintained according to the latest technology to keep energy consumption as low as possible.
  • All employees are encouraged to use resources and raw materials sparingly.
  • Residual materials are sorted and disposed of or recycled in an environmentally responsible manner according to the type of material.

2. Employees

Occupational Safety and Health Protection:
  • GÜNTHER ensures workplace safety and health protection at least in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Our safety officer continuously monitors compliance with the applicable standards.
  • Employees undergo regular occupational health check-ups and receive training on workplace and health safety.
Training and Continuing Education:
  • The training of our own junior staff and the continuous qualification of employees form the basis of our success. We provide vocational training in technical and commercial professions.
  • An internal continuing education program is an integral part of our personnel management.
Diversity Management:
  • The company ensures that no one is disadvantaged due to ethnic origin, gender, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual identity in hiring, dismissal, promotion, pay, or employee interaction.
Work – Life – Balance:

3. Society
Communication with Internal and External Partners:
  • Open communication is essential for us to align expectations and positions and to make decisions transparent. Employees are regularly informed about current events, future developments within the company, and trends in the industry.
  • In regular discussions with customers and suppliers, joint successes are reviewed, and new goals are defined.
  • We maintain close collaboration with the associations that are important to us.
4. Sustainability in Supplier Relationships
  • Sustainability is a fundamental part of our business and procurement strategy. Therefore, we consistently implement our high standards, as well as the sustainability requirements of our customers, in supplier relationships on a partnership basis.
  • Supplier selection and development always take environmental protection and labor and social standards into account alongside economic considerations.
Labor Standards:
  • We require all suppliers to uphold human rights, freedom of employment, the prohibition of child labor, freedom of association, and equality of opportunity. We expect working hours, wages, and social benefits to at least meet legal requirements and align with industry standards in the respective country.
  • Safety and occupational health at every workplace must comply with applicable national standards. Every supplier is committed to improving and continuously developing the working environment.
Business Ethics:
  • A high level of integrity is expected in all supplier relationships. Employees and business partners are required to make business decisions solely on objective grounds. Any form of personal gain is strictly prohibited.
  • Laws that protect and promote fair competition must be observed. Suppliers are obliged to treat all non-public commercial and technical information arising from the supplier relationship as confidential.
Environmental Protection and Product Safety:
  • Suppliers, as well as GÜNTHER’s internal product development, must proactively consider sustainable environmental policies for all products and their manufacturing. Products must be assessed for environmental standards during development, and the product lifecycle through to recycling must be evaluated. Environmentally friendly and resource-efficient manufacturing processes are expected and required.
  • All products and services must meet the contractually agreed criteria for quality and product safety upon delivery.
